Big Beach Art - Ruldolf! Reno, en la playa

Saturday was a beautiful sunny winters day, a walk down by the beach was what was on the agenda for the afternoon (and ice cream for Daddy Croc and Boo).  I love to comb the beach in the winter, its full of lots of interesting things that have been washed up in the storms.  Its mostly drift wood but of all different species, shapes and sizes.
El sábado fue un hermoso día soleados de invierno, un paseo por la playa era lo que estaba en la agenda de la tarde (y helado de Daddy Croc y Boo). Me encanta caminar por la playa en el invierno mirando las  cosas interesantes que han sido arrastrados por las tormentas. En su mayoría madera a la deriva, de todas las especies, formas y tamaños

Walking along Croc drew in the sand and I collected some sticks, the idea of doing some sort of wood sculpture to started to form.  Then Roberto chanced upon an amazingly shaped piece of drift wood that looked just like an animal head.
Caminando, Croc dibujó en la arena y yo recogía algunos palos, la idea de hacer una especie de escultura de madera comenzo a formarse en nuestras cabezas. Entonces Roberto se topó con una pieza increíble, un trozo de madera flotante que se parecía a una cabeza de animal.

We stuck two forked long branches in the sand to support a longer branch for the body and then put on the "head" some antlers and a small tail.  It didn´t take long to find a red plastic bottle top for the nose and hey presto- Rudolph!
Pusimos unas largas ramas bifurcadas en la arena para apoyar a una rama más larga para el cuerpo y luego poner en la "cabeza" cuernas  y una pequeña cola. No pasó mucho tiempo para encontrar una tapa de botella de plástico rojo para la nariz y ¡listo!-Rudolph!

This type of spontaneous art is great for

• creativity building
• seeing forms and shapes
• imagination and planning (thinking about what the animal looks like then finding pieces that will represent parts of the body)
