Garden animals

En el jardín ocurren un montón de cosas delante de nuestros ojos. Croc está encantado explorando, excavando y buscando por el jardín. Le gusta encontrar los pequeños animales que habitan el jardín y escucha los cantos de los animales cuando se los señalamos.

(por ejemplo el cuco). Ayer trabajamos en el jardín con Boo y Cror por allí. Hablamos de los animales que había en el jardín. Aquí va la lista de los que encontramos:  

Outside in the garden there´s loads going on.   Croc loves to explore around and dig in the soil.  He gets really excited when he sees little garden animals and he listens out when we point out the bird song to him (just yesterday we heard a cuckoo fore the first time).  Yesterday we we´re doing a bit of gardening with boo and croc around.  We talked about all the animals we could find in the garden.  Here´s the list he came up with:

• Snails                  Caracoles
• Slugs                    Babosas
• Worms                Gusanos
• Bees                    Abejas
• Wasps                 Avispas
• Flies                     Moscas
• Ants                     Hormiga
• ~

As I did some weeding I found some interesting things which I showed to him to see what he´d make of them.  (NB the previous owners kept animals!)

Al  quitar malas hierbas encontramos algunas cosas interesantes que le enseñamos a Croc par aver que le parecían. (los anteriores dueños tenían animales): dos huesos de animales, un diente de caballo o vaca y un embrión de pollo...

Los cogió y los manoseo, apretando con el dedo al pollo. Todo ello sin compartir los escrúpulos de su madre para cogerlos.
He picked them up and felt them a bit and then kind of poked of the bird.  Without any of the ickyness I had picking it from the ground.

He also learnt this week that wasps sting and poking their nest with a stick is what makes them angry.


There is also a swallows nest in the beams on the porch, the eggs have recently hatched and there are 3 chicks are just peeping over the edge of the nest.   Croc loves to see the swallows swoop in and feed the chicks with cries of "Mummy, Mummy the birdy´s in the box!!"

Esta semana aprendió que las avispas pican y que no es una Buena idea acercarse a sus nidos con palos y hurgar en ellos. También hay un nido en el porche de la casa con 3 pollitos recién salidos del cascaron que de vez en cuando se asoman al borde del nido. A Croc le encanta verlos cuando llega su mama a alimentarlos mientras gritan y piden más.
